Undercover Boss is a good American 2010 reality television set series, based on the British number of the same name. Each episode depicts an individual who has a high management position in a major business, deciding to become undercover being an entry-level employee to uncover the faults in the corporation. The first series contains nine episodes produced last year and first aired about February 7, 2010 on CBS.
The series was a ratings success to the network, with its premiere show receiving 38. 6 million viewers and a share of 32 pct. The first season was the favourite new show in any genre within the 2009-10 television season having an average audience of 18. 7 million viewers.
On March 27, 2011, Undercover Boss was officially picked for any third season by CBS, but will not signature until Winter 2012 with as yet an undetermined amount of episodes.
Repeats of Undercover Boss have been picked up by TLC and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Broadcasts on TLC begun on July 25, 2011, initially Mondays at 8PM ET, later moving to Thursdays in 9PM ET; OWN has also sent out repeats of Undercover Manager since Fall 2011.
Each episode features a new high-positioned executive or online resources a corporation going undercover for entry-level employee in their own company. The executive changes appearance and assumes an alias in addition to fictional back-story. The fictitious explanation for your accompanying camera crew is that this executive is being filmed within a documentary about entry-level workers inside a particular industry. They spend approximately a single week undercover, working in various elements of the company's operations, with a different job and generally a different location everyday. The boss is exposed to several predicaments with amusing outcomes and invariably spends time learning selected company employees, learning about their skilled and personal challenges.
At the end of the undercover week, the boss returns to help true identity and calls inside the selected employees to corporate headquarters. The boss rewards industrious employees through campaign, promotion or financial returns. Other employees are given training or better doing work conditions. [citation needed]
The show's producers determine what companies will be presented, what jobs the bosses will work, and which employees and which situations is going to be shown. The company has not any control over what airs, although a promise is made the companies' reputations aren't going to be hurt. On March 27, 2011, CBS officially renewed "Undercover Boss" for a third season. On May 18, 2011, CBS then announced that it will be holding the show to get a mid-season replacement to elite Sunday January 15, 2012 with an undetermined level of episodes.
