Don't cut cinnamon rolls the hard way. Cutting the dough before it is baked can be tricky. To cut the dough easily, use a string thread underneath it where you desire the cut to be made. Wrap the thread around the roll, cross it at the top of the roll, and pull. This will give you prefect slices of cinnamon rolls.

If you are going to be measuring sticky foods, then use cooking oil first. Before you measure, you will want to coat the spoon lightly with an oil that doesn't have much flavor, like canola oil, then the sticky substance you are measuring will glide off much easier, which will reduce the waste and will make clean up easier. This will work great for peanut butter and honey too.

Fresh foods are always a better choice than frozen or dried ones regardless of what type of food you are cooking. Use fresh ingredients, as they bring out the flavor in a dish, and they are also less expensive.

If you use less oil when you are cooking you will cut some fat and lose weight. Butters and oils frequently contain unnecessary fats. Consider giving non-stick cooking spray a shot. The end result is virtually the same, but these sprays are often fat-free and have ingredients that are more friendly to your diet.

When simmering or boiling vegetables, try adding chicken broth. Using chicken broth will prevent the vegetables from sticking in the pan as well as add some tasty flavor at the same time. Chicken broth is readily available at any grocery store, and is very inexpensive.

There are various ways to heat up tortillas properly. The first way requires you to place them into a preheated oven, at 350 degrees, and bake them to your liking. Grill tortillas by putting them on the grill plates right above the flames. These methods will give you a fresher tasting tortilla.

If you can, do all the preparing of the meal's ingredients in advance. It is important to have all the prep work done before you start cooking. Setting a time limit can add stress to your cooking experience. Do your prep work in advance, if you can.

The odors of many spices and vegetables will stay on your cutting board and will be impervious to soap. Use permanent ink to mark one end of the cutting board to identify which is which.

Be creative with the ideas you have just read. Make great food that you and your family will enjoy like meals that you can relax with and savor. Cooking can be a recreation that is enriching to your diet as well as your life. Make your kitchen the core of your house.
