The Government Museum boasts of a collection of rare coins, old manuscripts, and instances of Hadoti sculpture, to name a few.
The other important tourist attractions of Kota are the City Fort and Palace, Jagmandir Palace, Chambal Gardens, Rao Madho Singh Museum, Haveli of Devtaji, Rana Pratap Sagar Dam and Kota Barrage among others. The Kansua Temple that enshrines Lord Shiva is an ancient temple of Kota.
Kota is dotted with picnic spots that provide recreation and relaxation to the family. The Chambal Garden on the banks of the River Chambal River is one of such spots.
Kota is an educational hub of the nation, famous for its engineering colleges and various coaching institutes that have earned it the tag of 'educational hub of Rajasthan'.
Kota is home to many industrial units including Asia's largest fertilizer plant. Kota is known to experience very extreme climatic conditions, especially during summer. Winters are moderate in Kota and the best time to visit Kota is during the winter months of December to March.
