The girl in Black is an upcoming 2012 horror-thriller film led by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman, and is based about Susan Hill's novel in the same name. It is produced simply by Hammer Film Productions. The film will celeb Daniel Radcliffe, Ciar?n Hinds, Janet McTeer, Sophie Stuckey, and Liz White. It is due to discharge in the U. S. and Canada on 3 February 2012 and in BRITISH cinemas on 10 Feb . 2012.
Young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) foliage his son in London to be in the legal affairs on the recently deceased Alice Drablow. He discovers that some inexplicable accidents and suicides get forced the parents of her village to barricade their particular children indoors, as if protecting these individuals from an unseen opponent. When Arthur stays the night time all alone at the Drablows' foreboding house, he hears the screams of the drowning child and views decaying children listlessly roaming the marshes. He will soon uncover these haunting figures share the same date of death, and the same mindblowing.
The Woman in Black is the ghost of a scorned woman who had previously been unable to save Nathaniel, her beloved son, from drowning. She now takes using a horrifying form. Set on vengeance, her veil hides gaping electrical sockets eaten away by scavengers as well as her curse hides a level darker secret - whenever she's seen, a child dies.
In the face of hostility in the local residents, Arthur dredges up Nathaniel's skeletal frame and buries it in reference to his mother, hoping the evil spectre will probably finally rest in peacefulness. In a cruel twist of fate, the Woman In Dark turns her claws in direction of Arthur's young son. To avoid a fate worse than death, Arthur must now give up everything he holds beloved and save his little one.
The film was announced in 2009, with Jane Goldman because screenwriter and later James Watkins as director.
Daniel Radcliffe was announced for the reason that actor playing the section of Arthur Kipps on 21 July 2010. He was quoted seeing that saying, "I am incredibly excited to participate The Woman in Black color. Jane Goldman's script is actually beautifully written - both tender and terrifying in equal measure. " Two months after, it was announced that fellow Harry Potter co-star Ciar?n Hinds would join Radcliffe together with Janet McTeer as Mr as well as Mrs Daily, respectively. Before filming, Radcliffe saw a psycho therapist so he could far better understand his character.
The film was planned for being shot in 3D, but that plan had been later scrapped. Principal photography officially started off on 26 September 2010. The next day, Radcliffe was pictured throughout costume just outside Peterborough, England. In early October your crew was filming with Layer Marney Tower. Filming officially ended on 4 December 2010.
On 10 April 2011, during the Kapow! Comic Con in Greater london, the first official teaser trailer home was unveiled. The official UK teaser poster premiered on 24 August 2011. The full UK trailer was already released on 14 October 2011.
